New 2025 Porsche Cayenne – Price, Specs, Performance & Features

Overview

The standard for sporty SUVs is the new 2025 Porsche Cayenne. It’s a mid-size, two-row vehicle that feels surprisingly agile thanks to more than 20 years of Porsche performance DNA. You can choose from a turbocharged V‑6, twin-turbo V‑8, or plug-in hybrid powertrain (we cover hybrids separately), but every version impresses with sharp handling, rare for a big SUV. Despite its athletic DNA, the Cayenne is easy to live with every day, offering a roomy, comfy interior, a good-sized cargo area, and plenty of luxury and tech features. Of course, adding options can get expensive, but the Cayenne delivers value when you consider the overall experience. If you want even crazier performance, check out the 729‑hp Turbo E‑Hybrid. With strong performance, quality build, and versatility, the Cayenne earns a spot on our 2025 Editors’ Choice list.

What’s New for 2025?

Porsche adds a 493‑hp GTS model this year. The twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine of the Cayenne S provides an extra 25 horsepower. It also borrows tech from the wild Turbo GT, including water‑cooled all‑wheel drive and upgraded suspension for sharper steering. The GTS gets the Sport Design package standard, which gives it black trim on the outside, dark bronze exhaust tips, black wheels, and special GTS logos inside.

Pricing and Which One to Buy

The Cayenne’s starting price is $86,695, and with all the extras and premium trims, it may reach $205,795.
Base Cayenne: $86,695
Cayenne Coupe: $91,795
Cayenne S: $103,595
S Coupe: $109,995
GTS: $126,895
GTS Coupe: $131,495
Turbo GT Coupe: $205,795

We love the base model—it already includes a 12.3‑inch touchscreen, 10‑speaker stereo, and Wi‑Fi hotspot. To make it better, we’d go for the Premium package (ambient lights, adaptive cruise, Bose surround sound, heated front and rear seats, panoramic sunroof), the Sport Chrono package (extra drive modes, launch control), the Off‑Road package (underbody protection, off‑road displays), and adaptive air suspension for both comfort and performance.

Engine, Transmission, and Performance

If you want power, start with the turbocharged 3.0‑liter V‑6 that delivers 348 hp. Upgrading to the Cayenne S gives you a 468-hp twin-turbo V-8 with a great exhaust sound and rapid acceleration. The GTS boosts that engine to 493 hp, while the Turbo GT Coupe goes all out with a 650‑hp twin‑turbo V‑8, massive brakes, tuned suspension, and lightweight parts. Every version comes with an 8‑speed automatic transmission and all‑wheel drive. Even though the Cayenne is hefty, Porsche’s engineering gives it a surprisingly nimble feel. In our test drives, the Cayenne S felt just as sharp as before, and the GTS proved to be more driver-focused. Adaptive dampers are standard now, and you can add features like adjustable air suspension, four-wheel steering, and active anti-roll bars for even better handling.

0–60‑MPH Times

The regular V-6 Cayenne can reach 60 mph in about 4.7 seconds. In 3.9 seconds, the S Coupe completes the race. It takes 2.8 seconds for the top-tier Turbo GT Coupe to reach 60 mph.

Towing and Payload Capacity

If you’re planning to tow with the Porsche Cayenne, it can handle up to 7,716 pounds when equipped the right way. That’s more than enough for most trailers, boats, or small campers.

Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG

According to EPA standards, the base Cayenne with the turbocharged V6 should get about 17 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway. The more powerful V8 engines in the Cayenne S and GTS models offer about 15 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway. Although these figures are not impressive, they are normal for a high-performance SUV. When we get a chance to drive the new Cayenne on our 75-mph highway test route, we’ll update the real-world fuel results.

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo

The 2025 Cayenne has a modern and high-end cabin. Up to three screens, including one for the passenger, are available on the dashboard. Porsche moved the gear selector to the dashboard to free up additional space in the middle for storage.

Porsche gives you tons of ways to customize the interior—everything from the trim materials to the color of the seatbelts can be tailored to your taste. Of course, the more you customize, the more it’ll cost.

Four-zone climate control, optional massage seats, and heated and ventilated front and rear seats are examples of comfort features. Some of its rivals, such the Volvo XC90 and Audi Q7, feature third rows of seats, despite the Cayenne’s two rows. But there is plenty of legroom, and the back seat can be adjusted.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The dashboard has a wide stretch of screens. In the middle, there’s a 12.3-inch touchscreen that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The front passenger can get their 10.9-inch screen that can play videos, thanks to a feature that keeps the driver from seeing it.

There’s also a 12.6-inch display behind the steering wheel for the driver, which shows speed, navigation, and other key information. The whole setup feels advanced and tech-savvy without being overwhelming.

Safety and Driver-Assistance Features

Porsche’s Cayenne has a strong array of safety features. All models come with forward collision warning and parking sensors in the front and rear. For added safety, you can also get night vision with an infrared camera.

Key available safety features include:

  • Adaptive cruise control with lane-centering
  • Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert
  • Lane departure warning and lane-keeping assist

Warranty and Maintenance Coverage

Porsche gives you solid warranty coverage, but it’s about average for the luxury segment. Some brands like BMW and Volvo offer better free maintenance coverage.

  • Limited warranty: 4 years or 50,000 miles
  • Powertrain warranty: 4 years or 50,000 miles

Maintenance is free for the first year or 10,000 miles only.
