The Lamborghini Urus was already a bold SUV that blended power with luxury. Now in 2025, it’s taking a big step forward with a new hybrid version. The big news? Lamborghini has introduced a plug-in hybrid model called the Urus SE.
A 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine and a 192-horsepower electric motor are combined in this new Urus SE. Together, they create a huge 789 horsepower, giving you faster performance and smoother power delivery. That means you get strong acceleration without the usual stops and starts in power.

Engine, Performance, and Driving Feel
The standard Urus (S and Performante variants) has a twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 657 horsepower. It sounds deep and loud when you start it, and absolutely roars when you push the gas. It also has all-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic transmission, giving you fast and smooth acceleration.
The new Urus SE Hybrid steps things up with:
- A 620-horsepower V8 engine

The Lamborghini Urus is known for its fast acceleration, and it proves that in real-world tests. The standard Urus reached 60 miles per hour in just 3.1 seconds and completed the quarter-mile in 11.3 seconds at a speed of 121 mph. The Performante version was even faster, beating that time by 0.1 seconds.
Lamborghini says the new 2025 Urus SE Hybrid can go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds. If you keep going, it can reach 125 mph in about 12.5 seconds. Based on how the older models performed, it’s likely that Lamborghini’s claims for the SE Hybrid are a bit conservative, and it may be quicker in real-world testing.
Fuel Economy and Real-World MPGe
Fuel economy has never been the main focus of the Urus. The S and Performante models are rated by the EPA to give around 14 miles per gallon in the city and 19 miles per gallon on the highway. The new SE plug-in hybrid has not yet been officially tested in the United States, but since it shares a similar power setup with the Porsche Cayenne Hybrid, it’s expected to offer about 40 MPGe when using both gas and electric power.

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
The Lamborghini Urus’s interior is daring and fashionable while maintaining the unique style of the brand.
